THE FULL STORY.
From an early age Nicole Mikulis was drawn to medicine and science. Her passion for these subjects provided her with several opportunities to work and contribute to a field that she loved. Nicole began her career as a neuroscientist in 2019 at the Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston, Massachusetts researching neonatal neurodevelopmental care. After realizing there was a missing link between research and its understanding by the public, she decided to invest more time investigating how to better communicate health science information.
Nicole moved to Paris in 2020 where she began a Master of Art in drawing at the Paris College of Art. Through this, she learned how to take a complex concept and create impressive and telling visuals for people to engage with. Here she was able to refine her artistic eye and graduate with a skillset to compliment her scientific background.
Today, Nicole's main objective is to find the best way for scientific and medical information to capture the attention of an audience. Work in this field often requires an ability to perform in-depth, scientific research to ensure accuracy, but also learning new artistic tools to find the best way to tell a story. Nicole's dual nature in these opposing fields makes her the perfect bridge for the gap that currently exists between the end of scientific research and the beginning of public engagement.
